  • Comments: A totally new layout this year with a new bike and run course. Much better as far as the transitions and spectator control. However, the run course is just too hard. An additional drink station would be good. I'm sure there will be further adjustments next year.

  • Comments: A challenging race, but was scheduled weird-too spread out and the day just went on forever. The mini-sprint didn't start until 9 am, and the elite heat of the sanctioned sprint was finishing at 5 pm. There were less than 300 competitors total, so it should not have taken this long! I placed 2nd in my age group, and it was 7:30 pm before they got around to awards! Was really happy to have placed, had a cold beer and then fell asleep in the truck on the way home...happy girl. Overall I know I could have done better. I totally thought I could do this race in under 2 hours, and was a bit bummed not to meet this goal. My "fast" goal was 1:50:00, but all the slow climbing of hills on both the bike and the run killed this possibility. Will be riding lots of hills this summer for sure.
