  • Comments: Given it was mostly college kids, the organization was really pretty good and the volunteers were great and very friendly as usual.

  • Comments: Expectations can't probably be that high, given that this is organized by college students, with probably a lot of turnover year over year. For experienced triathetes, it probably wasn't too bad, as they are used to different conditions. But for a first timer, probably not the best rest to start out with.

  • Comments: I really wanted to finish top 3 in my age group and losing out on that by 10 seconds is really frustrating. I keep telling myself that this is my first year doing tris and I should be happy with my finsihes, but I am a competitor. One more tri left, then a marathon, and then a lot of work to do in the offseason :)

  • Comments: My first triathlon trophy! Ok fine, so really it was just a pint glass, but I got 3rd in my AG and they gave it to me, so I'm calling it a trophy, dammit! My first "award" in triathlon, if you insist. I was definitely pumped to hear my name called, but I would have been happy either way as this was my best race yet. Not perfect -- far from it -- but it gives me good confidence going into my "off" season (road racing). I feel like I made real progress this year. My first race of the season (Land Between the Lakes) was my worst, and my last was my best. I'm looking forward to next season, especially since I signed up for the big one: Ironman Wisconsin. Holy crap!
