  • Comments: One more thing to add - I did use my Garmin, but I taped over the display for the race. I think I wind up paying too much attention to it and thought I'd race by feel to see how it went. Overall, I'm happy with this decision and will be employing that at all upcoming races. I seemed to have done a pretty good job on the bike, and I might have slowed down unnecessarily once I saw my heart rate spiking. It's a sprint for goodness sake - and I didn't show up to have a stroll in the park! I'm not fast, but this was fast for me. A great race and one that I'll be doing next year.

  • Comments: I've always heard good things about onurmark, but this was the first time to experience it. extremely well put toghether and organized. I will be back! I don't think I could find anything negative about the entire experience, and that is a giant compliment comming from me, considering I an on a commitee for a charity bike ride, and can be overly critical.

  • Comments: As always OUL races are awesome. Sometimes you take it for granted and then you have a friend do their races for a first time and they rave about the organization, etc. and it reminds you why you pay that little bit extra for these races.

  • Comments: Onurmark puts on a great event and I really enjoy this venue. The time in between swim wave starts seemed a little long but I didn't see a whole lot of people running into each other so I'll say it was good race planning with the number of participates that were registered.

  • Comments: Not a bad race. Better this year with a little smaller field, or at least it felt better and smaller. Nice attention to details...for the most part, the little things are well tended to. Especially loved the cold bag of ice at the finish line. Perfect! Results postings could have been better. Had to fight off a family of ants at my transition area. Nothing like a fire ant bite between the toes first thing in the morning. Waves were later than scheduled due to the change from 4 minutes to 5 minutes between waves. Instead of going off at 7:34, our wave was closer to 7:55. Makes for a hot day out on the course.

  • Comments: You expect a great race from Aaron and that is what you get. Speakers kept cutting out and I think everything else was pretty perfect. This race has to be the best sprint in Texas. I certainly haven't done them all but it's the best of all the races I have done. This was my third year and I'll likely be back next year.

  • Comments: A really great event and well organized. I'll be there next year to try to redeedm myself. I wish there were a way to let the slow folks go out first without getting in the way of the faster people. By the time we get out on the run course it is so hot. But I do understand that the fast people don't want slow people in their way and we don't want to be run over by the fast people. The only suggestion I have is to have more toilet paper in the port-a-potties and more of them by the swim start. Since there was such a long time between the first and last waves, the lines were incredible.
