  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: I may sound like an old curmudgeon - but I hate the way that so many women wear headphones. It makes for a boring race when no one is chatting. It was a quiet group of women. I even heard a couple of GPS's giving turn-by-turn directions. Really? You need that when there are a 1000 other women running with you and oodles of volunteers at every turn? Turn off and tune in to your fellow runners!

  • Comments: This race has a good vibe - but I will complain that too many women are tuned into MP3 players and not into each other. I like to chat along the course, and it seems that more and more women are wearing earphones are in their own little worlds.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Could have used a few more water stations. They only had five. Also, only one station had Gatorade and Gu. One station was completely abandoned about half way through the race. The table was tipped over and the gallons of water were sitting on the ground with cups scattered everywhere. Runners were filling their own cups at this station. The hills were very challenging, but the race was a lot of fun overall. I will definitely do the race again next year if my schedule permits.

  • Comments: I love woman-only races! Really good vibes, and the "one lucky guy" was really friendly, too.

  • Comments: Only complaint about the race was the post race food- there was plenty of pizza available for all runners, but that seemed a bit heavy to me! But there might have been other things that I missed in my desire to get to Paul and Cal!

  • Comments: I would have liked more drink stations, and more accelerade. We had drink stations every two miles...I realize every mile would have been too much but still, I'd liked to have seen them. The accelerade was only ever four miles--that should have definitely been every two, as far as I was concerned. I wonder if that was Accelerade's fault--were they stingy with the giveaway?? Otherwise, the staff was fab, the organization was fantastic, the post-race food was good (not as good as York Hospital's 5K though), and the field of all-women for this inaugural event was fabulous. I give it two definite thumbs-up!
