  • Comments: Beautiful race. Very well-organized; excellent logistical and community support. Swim course was easily the best marked and one of the most enjoyable I've ever done. Bike course well-marked and lots of local cheering squads in even the remote stretches far from town, which really helped as much of the time I was riding with few or no others in sight. Run course rolling but very doable--a bit crowded as runners in both directions were restricted to one shoulder of the road, traffic not stopped, and bikers were still going on the course. My only major complaint has to do with traffic control--it was there at intersections but traffic was not stopped during the race. Didn't feel safe in a few areas--the first few miles out of/into town (supposed to be a no-pass zone but many riders ignored it) and the descent through the tunnel after the first major climb. A car crossing the center line at high speed entered the tunnel from the end opposite me--there is no shoulder in there and I would

  • Comments: Overall: 6:38:53. Course Record! At first I was pretty upset about how the race went when I finished, but looking back, I had an awesome race, had PR’s on the Swim and both transitions, faster bike than last year, and a faster run than last year on a course that is tough. So I guess it was a good race all things considered. Having teammates there is priceless, nothing like seeing the JFT team at the finish line, although I’d like to get there a little earlier next time! Thanks coach Jill for the encouragement as I really thought I would have a much tougher time

  • Comments: Once I got into T2 and over the fact they had apparently mismeasured the bike course I was fine. happy to finish and to enjoy the event. I didn't have my A game today. Maybe a B-/C+, but I felt very good about my effort considering conditions and my bonehead mistake of leaving my nutrition in my car. If the weather had been better it would have been a much more enjoyable experience. Also, the volunteers at the aid stations were a bit sparse. The ones that were there were tremendous, but they seemed understaffed and the "forgot we had gel" at the first couple aid stations was a bit puzzling. The bike course was hard. Very technical too. Not one you could get aero and just crank out your best speed. Lots of climbing and fast descents and lots of turns. The hairpin on the 2nd turn was downright dangerous. No signage, no volunteers that I saw. Maybe I missed them. If that poor woman hadn't wrecked, it would have been me or someone else. There also was not great SAG support

  • Comments: I thought this race was fantastic. Great support, great course. It's hilly, but I like the challenge. The scenery is fantastic and the post race event was well done. Cudos to the RD.

  • Comments: I really like the event in Chelan. Still think the triathlons are some of the best. Need to sign up earlier if I want to do it next year.

  • Comments: The Chelan Man is hands down the best race I have done this far. I have done 17 races this year and they are all great but this race was awesome. The help and organization was on the ball. Water in all stations with oranges, pretzels, gels and HED drinks was very helpful. All volunteers were very helpful and happy to be there. The organization was day was just great. A big thanks to the RD and all who helped with this race. Very well put on from the day before the race and all the way through the race, just well done.

  • Comments: I predict that in the next few years, Chelanman is going to become HUGE. I have never been to an event that was so well put on. And this is only it's second year. Top notch volunteers, and the race director really had everything figured out. My only complaint was lack of porta-potties. But then again, people wouldn't owe me beers if those were an option...
