  • Comments: Ft Desoto closed those FABULOUS Showers/bathrooms of theirs. (Repair?) "Expect the unexpected." No cars traffic is Great!!!! Bumpy, Rickety-rackety roads are not. When they ever repave these SMOOTH, this bike course will be the best in SW FL IMO. Swim is great. T1 could be shorter length. Bike...Good.T2 is good. Run on sandy beach road is good for joints, bad for legs/times overall. Multirace does a very good job tho' with so few but energetic volunteers!

  • Comments: They did improve on the organization compared to the first race in the series. The buoys were out on schedule and had no issues with the swim course. That being said, when we were about to start, the race director did not know when some of the groups were supposed to start and he was trying to communicate with his people unsuccessfully. The signaling on the bike getting into T2 was just awful. The food and drinks afterwards were good, and the T-shirt they give you was better than most.

  • Comments: The organization of the race was pretty bad. When I got to the beach at 6:30 (race started at 7) there was no buoys in place. The race director was running from one place to the other trying to start the Olympic race (btw, the distances of the Olympic are not even close to accurate), then the duathlon and then the sprint. They had the issue with one of the buoys drifting off to sea. Besides that, there were ony a couple of kayaks in the course. It's not an issue for me since I am a swimmer and I feel secure in the water, but if it was my first tri and was worried about the swim, it would be a problem. There were several people at the end too complaining about clear of signs on the bike course. Hope they improve for the next race.

  • Comments: My only criticism is the transition area for set up was not lit, and they allowed non racers in the transition area which made it crowded and caused confusion.

  • Comments: Could have used a water station in the way in from the swim. Needed more people handing out cups on the run. Both station only had 2 people and if there was a crowd, it was either stop or skip it.

  • Comments: Overall I thought the organizers did a pretty good job. There could have been a little more lighting in the transition area in the morning but other than that everything ran pretty smooth. Of course, I do wish they had beer at the end of the race (need to maintain my Clydesdale figure) but since it was a State Park I understand the limitations.

  • Comments: Need to sleep and rest more during the week preceding a race. This was a training race so I wasn't too concerned but my body just felt worn out to start with. I remember what it was like to have energy before a race and today wasn't that. Had I had the energy my swim may have been a little better but the bike would have definitely been better. The run may have been a little bit better -- but law of averages and my current conditioning say I was on par.

  • Comments: My rating would be better but the fact that I do not have a run time or a FINAL official time negates a lot of the good. I can practice on my own. I want official times for Races!!!!
