  • Comments: There was not a lot of food/drink options after the race. I was very disappointed in that. I was a little fuzzy so I don't even remember exactly what they had but I would have given anything for a beer or a chocolate milk. I felt like an Ironman branded event should have more to offer finishers.

  • Comments: always a good race, lots of space for transisitions and port race activities. Ok down side is road conditions. All in all, not my best...the concert cost me minutes for sure and my goal time was sub 5hr. I did get a Vegas slot with rolldown so happy with that!

  • Comments: Racine seems to throw something at you - whether it's the heat, lake, wind or road conditions. This year it was the lake. Volunteers are great and it's really well run and so much fun.

  • Comments: What a neat race! The swim could have been smoother, but not bad for my first 70.3. Probably could have shaved off 1-1.5 hours if it were my A-Race. Next year I'll probably have a 70.3 as such a race and will be able to see how well I can do. Loving the new bike and just need to get it tweaked a bit. Feeling good about everything right now! Next stop, Ironman Wisconsin!!! :-)

  • Comments: Ironman employeed staff was pushy & rude around transition. I thought that was unnecessary. All the volunteer staff was amazing & awesome. The local spectators with the garden hoses were my favorite, very uplifting moment.

  • Comments: An amazingly fun debut at this distance! Proved to myself that I am a middle of the pack swimmer and kinda average triathlete now, I guess? Realised that I need lots more work on my bike power. Also got over my latest gear-tech-jealousy feelings by showing that you don't need expensive stuff to compete and enjoy the day; my $10 stopwatch and knowing my body is greater than a $400 garmin and not knowing how to use it; there were many aero-helmets that cost more than my bike frame, let alone wheels and frames that are about the annual income of a poor (and not even that talented) musician, yet none of that stopped me really enjoying my ride. At 3 miles into the run I said to myself that I have no urge to enter a full ironman-distance event for the rest of my 30s; I'll re-address this in my mid-life crisis. Lastly, apparently I had a smile all the way around the run course, and it is still lingering now THANKS - to my Missus, Mum, Dad, Sis, Adam and Rose, Steve at Comrade Cycles, whomever

  • Comments: This was my first big-scale event outside of Alaska, so I don't have much to compare to. However, I think it was great. IM Village was cool, everything was very well organized, well-marked (I tend to get lost), well supported, and everything was on time to the second. Tons of volunteers, even some who weren't official volunteers, just helping out in their yard as we went by, spraying us with water and cheering. I had a great time.

  • Comments: All-in-all, a great race. Very well organized, and the volunteers were awesome. I really like the transition set-up and finish location. It made for a very stree-free event, logistically speaking, from my perspective. Overall, I think Steelhead was a more interesting race, particularly the bike segment. I'll most likely be back since it's so close to Chicago.

  • Comments: Another great job by WTC, the volunteers and the residents of Racine. The bike course could use some help as it's pretty chewed up in areas.

  • Comments: Great race with great local support. Plenty of volunteers everywhere. Did not check out the post race food, but looked like bagels and subs. Might be a regulation, but a beer tent would be nice.

  • Comments: I loved the race!!!! I thought it was wonderfully organized, and the volunteers and the police were great and right on the job. I thought the aid stations were well done and just the right amount apart on the run.

  • Comments: This is a great race, easy course. The chop on the swim and the wind on the bike did me no favors this year, but I've always loved this race, even when it was Spirit of Racine.

  • Comments: Since my performance above is all on my lack of training, I'll critique the race itself. The t-shirts this year are quite a letdown. Look like any old shirt I could get at a local race. Heck, the local race shirt actually looks better this year. I know it's not much, but the race shirt for an Ironman race should look like it's from an Ironman race. The logo it pretty odd too. Background has a car tire tread in it? Didn't recall car tires being any part of the event, or noteworthy about Racine. Small bickering points, but thing's I've come to expect from this race.

  • Comments: Great Race and a PR of 1:06 (1 hour & 6 minutes) from last year!!! Partly due to training and partly due good weather. The swim was rough, but I'll take that over the 100 degree heat index that we had last year! A Big Thank You to all of the Volunteers & fellow Triathletes!

  • Comments: I didn't get to have any food afterwards because all of the sandwiches had mayonnaise. I can't stand mayo and thought it was really surprising that they would put it on ALL of the sandwiches. I would think that even people that like it would not really want it after a race. They should have had some alternative foods especially how much we pay to do these races. The best thing about the race were the crowds and volunteers. The people in general were sooooo supportive and friendly. I was really impressed with everyone. Cops were really nice and cheered for us. One even thanked us for coming to race.

  • Comments: Fun race, fairly flat which is just what i wanted for my first 70.3. Like the colder water for the swim. Could do with out the crazy waves.

  • Comments: It took me most of Monday to come to grips with the fact that I had a good race. I didn't quit like I really wanted to during the swim. Instead I kept swimming and even through vomiting I made it to my bike and kept on going. I ended up having my best run time ever for this race!! Each and every race has it's success and failures. It's human nature to focus on the failures but if you can just push them aside and see all that you did right you can see some much more success! It's hard for me to do but I managed to see that instead of continuing to be frustrated with my swim. I did my best and that's all I ever hope for.

  • Comments: Overall, an awesome race. Ironman knows exactly what they are doing and they put on a great event. Volunteers were fantastic, everything was on time, the course was very well supported and the post race activities were great. Now, I get to aim for 5:00:00 next year... looking forward to it.
