  • Comments: I love this race! The trip is so much fun. We make a long weekend out of it. The race is great. Great atmosphere and after party. My third time racing here and I plan on being back every year. I'm still not sure where I officially placed. There were people that cut off the bike and run course early and they were having a hard time getting it all figured out. I'm some where between 20-26 over all. They still don't have the age group results online because they are trying to figure it out. At the age group awards they announced times of each place as they walked up. 2nd and 3rd in my division with slower times than me and 1st place faster then me. I walked up to the race director afterwards and he said they had a lot of mistakes. He looked at the results, told me I was 2nd in the age group and gave me an award. Pretty funny. Its all good in Mexico! I was just happy to have such a good swim and bike.

  • Comments: I was pretty grumpy after the race as I knew I had a good base to place top 5 in my age group. Coming in 8th was unsatisfactory for me. Had I been able to hold my normal 7:15-7:30 run pace, I would have met my goal. Oh well, could have, should have, would have don't count. The post race party put on by Red Rock eventually got me out of my slump and I was wishing all triathlon races would end this way. They really know how to put on a party and everybody seemed to be having a good time.

  • Comments: Red Rock, as usual, did a fantastic job. This is a great destination race, my issues on the swim notwithstanding. The resort is very nice and being able to stay so close to the venue and transition cannot be beat. The volunteers were great and the aid stations were well stocked and open late, which was great for those of us in the BOP.

  • Comments: A "must-do" triathlon for anybody that can swing it. The post-race party put on by Corona and the event organizer was crazy! Can you say FREE BEER? The host resort was very accommodating and nice, the people were great, and the the overall vibe was killer. The day itself was a "Perfect Storm" - fueled by the accomplishment of the race (my first Olympic distance), the attitude of my friends and fellow athletes, and the copious amounts of Corona - that set me up for a day (and night) that I will never forget... my own personal version of the movie "The Hangover". I'll be back next year!

  • Comments: The awards ceremony and after party were EPIC! Free beer, shots, a DJ, it was off the hook! I won a 4500ML magnum bottle of tequila that's almost 3 feet tall! It was hysterical! This race is by far and away the most fun race we have ever done and I would recomend anyone and everyone to try and come do it at some point, you will NOT be dissapointed! ..and then I had another beer... ;)

  • Comments: Race was very well organized and planned. Volunteers were great and plentiful. The only bad thing was that their "special" race room rates were more than if you just called the resort (actually $50/nt more). I would do this again. It is in Mexico and I'm not a big fan of crossing the border.

  • Comments: Great time in Mexico with a group of my friends. Once again we had 2 people doing their first race, one of them my friends 61 year old mom. We had 2 sweet condos and cooked up great dinners for the group and just hung out. On Sunday we had a fun two man scramble golf tournament and then headed back to Phoenix. My only negative thing about the race is the shortening of the run, I had a good race going and I think could have had a Olympic distance PR if the distance was correct.

  • Comments: This race gets a high rating because of the atmosphere and party more than the actual course. The live band, slip-n-slide, and free corona beer at the finish made it a FUN race. It's not a place to try for a PR, though. We had a great time and will probably go back next year.

  • Comments: I rate this as race #2 in my top 3 Oly distances of all time. Red Rock really pulled it together, and fixed all the stuff that detracted from the first attempt last year. The only feedback I'd have for the race director for next year is extend the swim to the proper distance, make sure both aid stations have enough gatorade, and ditch the band in favor of better food. All that beer requires something more than chips and salsa. We know of this great taco stand that wold be great to cater...

  • Comments: This was a great race, definetly one of my favorite oly races (kegs of Corona at the finish line never hurt either). The resort was a pefect set-up, great pool area for hanging out and relaxing. It was nice to do a race that started a little later also. It was well organized and had a fun course.

  • Comments: Even though there were some small short comings, this race is AWESOME and I still had a good race! The location is great and what is better than a Cinco De Mayo triathlon in Mexico. Shrimp, beer, fireworks, the beach.... just a great time! (except for the 2 hours it took to cross the border... LOL)

  • Comments: This was the first race in Mexico by Red Rock and they did an excellent job. They had good security in the transition area and the post race activities were done on time and flawless. I will be back for this event in the future.
