  • Comments: Overall, I am pleased as this was a new PR for me at this race. I think I owe a lot to minor changes such as running sockless and getting my feet out of my tri shoes towards the end of the bike leg. I can now see how having a fast transition can help shave minutes off the total race time.

  • Comments: I was really hoping to make Top 5 Age Group in this race, based on last year's AG race results. However, I was told that so many more people broke 1 hour this year than last (just my luck). My goal was 59:45, and I was 1:15 slower than that, but it would not have mattered. Even at 59:45 I still would not have moved up any positions - 5th place was sub-59 minutes. Oh well, maybe next time. Regardless, I love racing and it was fun to have a race so close to home that I could ride to and from and not mess with parking, keys, etc. On to the next!!!

  • Comments: Really felt good about this race! From an effort level, probably my best race of the year...Really was focused the whole race on pushing every little extra inch I could. Seems vacation helped me from work and racing... I'll take that! I've done alot of racing(for me) this year and really felt my focus was spot on today! Raised some personel bars for myself today and it's only motivated me more! If that's possible:) Gotta catch up with Milton and Patrick today and always enjoy there company!! Got some priceless IM and basic tri info from Patrick, which is always appreciated! Really had a great time! It was 1st time in awhile the family went and that was good! Makes for a more fun ride home!!! Love those guys!

  • Comments: Overall, I was pleased with my swim and really impressed with my bike split. As hot as it was during the race, I felt I stayed well hydrated throughout the race. I did the mini sprint of this race back in February and my bike time for 9 miles was 42 minutes. My fitness level has improved and I need to continue to run more to be able to get my run times down. Now time to continue to prepare for the Mountain Man sprint tri on the 17th!
