  • Comments: Like all Lifetime events I have seen, it was well organized and well run. The amenities are nice, albeit cookie cutter (Lifetime finds a design that they like for shirts, medals, etc. and sticks with it). I recommend their races, especially if you haven’t done a bunch of them.

  • Comments: The reason I was out there was to race with my friends. While the swim sucked for me, the rest of the race was pretty enjoyable, and I love being around the race atmosphere. Second worst Oly time ever for me. On a positive note, I got to see a number of BT peeps that I haven't seen in awhile! Overall it was a fun day doing something I love!

  • Comments: From a performance standpoint this felt like my worst race ever. However, from a learning and evaluation point I think this was absolutely invaluable. Considering this was only my 4th tri ever and I just started this journey last August I have a lot left to learn but felt I grew years in that knowledge after today. If I execute the swim like I should I'm sitting on the podium today rather than in 9th. With that said I'm still content as I can see my bike moving along well, my run is stable given the little attention I've given it, I learned some limits out there and found some new gears. I'll get the swim licked before August, get the TT bike and goodies, bolster the bike with a lot more work and hopefully have a very solid Steelhead 70.3. If I'm lucky maybe they'll cancel the swim this year ;)

  • Comments: Overall, I'm glad I entered even though I was not as prepared physically and mentally as I was preparing for my SuperSeal race which was in March 18th.

  • Comments: Red Rock consistently puts on a great race. This race was well organized, well produced, had lots of enthusiastic volunteers, everything was on time, and it was just fun! I look forward to doing Red Rock events because the are so good.

  • Comments: So at the end of the day, as usual my wife was correct and I went home that afternoon feeling great, feeling confidant in my training and fitness. Jamie and I sat outsdie as I enjoyed the first of more then a few Kona Brewing Company Cocunut brown Ale's and tunred to her and said,"Now i am ready to go get my Kona slot."

  • Comments: This was a great training race and first race of the year. My race time on the site was 3:09 but I thought I was at 2:59 based on start time and finish time. Also added up individual times and also thought it was about the same.

  • Comments: Everyone is right, Red Rock puts on a great race. The Aid Stations were well stocked and the fact that they made the decision to switch to a Du early on Saturday was great. This was a great IMAZ preview. It really highlighted all the work I have ahead of me and my lessons learned list is long. The bike course leading up to the Beeline is super flat so I think I'll be well served to spend time on the trainer or down at Fiesta Island - flat isn't something you'll find too much of in San Diego. Cadence and being able to push a high gear will be a key to success. The run was a great test of patience and pushing myself through the rough patch at the beginning. Nutrition is the biggest lesson I can take from this experience. Long duration runs and rides will be important going forward. This was only my 3rd ever multi-sport race so sometimes it's hard to keep it all in perspective. Bring on IMAZ 2011.

  • Comments: This was a well-run event overall. It started a few minutes late through no fault of the race director, but they caught up quickly. They should have made the bike portion longer to make it more equal with the run portion. That would have been really cool (for me). Let's face it - 50% more run should be matched with 50% more bike!
