  • Comments: I used this race as a "prep" for the Full Vineman in July....this course was much more difficult than the Vineman course, so mentally I feel good about Vineman....physically, I'm now very confident that I can have a strong performance at Vineman. The race was well organized and the volenteers were great....dispite my tough luck of them allowing my wrong turn. The race organizer, Brad, was excellent. I emailed him a few times prior to the race and always got a personal response. If you are looking to challenge yourself at a very pretty venue then this is your race!

  • Comments: It is grass roots & not too flashy. The support is good, the food very good and the event is FUN. The course is pretty open with traffic, so you have to keep your wits about you!

  • Comments: This is a challenging race thanks to all the elevation on the bike course. We had quite cold weather (40s at race start) and in other years in can be incredibly hot. The race is small (250 racers for the half), but quite well run.

  • Comments: This is definitely the world's toughest half, at least for me. But it was an awesome race, in a beautiful place, with lots of nice volunteers and supportive spectators. Would I do it again? Maybe. Let me talk to my legs and see what they have to say :D

  • Comments: Brad runs a fantastic race - a great combination of down-home, low key fun and professional organization. The volunteers were friendly (if a bit sparse on some sections of the bike course), and Brad's laid-back and fun-loving attitude makes for a great time. My favorite race of the season.

  • Comments: Other than starting a little late and a couple of lame volunteers, this was one of the best races I've done in terms of race management. COLD Cytomax and water at the aid stations. Ice water sponges at the run aid stations. Enthusiastic and helpful volunteers. Meticulous course marking. Policing of major intersections to control traffic and let us through. They even provided a non-white finishers T-shirt. And even though I was one of the last to come in, there were still volunteers at the aid stations, and still food at the end.

  • Comments: Well run, low key race with a fantastic collegiate division. I wish more race directors were as supportive of collegiate athletes as Brad.
