  • Comments: Event Power always puts on great races and they did a great job with this race. The volunteers rocked it again this year. This race course is great. The swim was improved over last year as well. The unfortunate thing was the turnout and support was very low this year. Last year the race was at the end of July. I think moving it up to the week of the 4th of July might have had something to do with the turnout. The other thing is they really need to have an area to warm up for the swim I think that would be extremely beneficial. I understand it might be difficult to do but it something that should be considered.

  • Comments: EventPower always puts on a 1st class Tri. I made the podium and so did my wife. I think the swim portion is the best on Long Island. Volunteers were great!! They also have a lot of divisions to get on the podium which I think is great for everyone. I do at least 3 of there events a year and they are great. Thank You EventPower!!!

  • Comments: My overall assessment -- this was a fun race with very interesting swim, an OK and sometimes very scenic bike course with many patches of bad road, and an OK run. I'm glad I did it, but I do think the price was too high for the product -- I signed up late though so I paid full freight, I might feel differently about that if I got in at the early registration price. I really like that they added the race so there was an Oly to do at this time of year. When I was leaving the site my feeling was that this race might have a problem surviving because it seemed like there wasn't much if any support from local residents. During the race, I didn't see any local interest or support. After the race there were traffic issues problems (not unusual), but I saw some negative exchanges between people in cars and others who I presume to be local business owners, and racers and their families leaving the site. I'm not that experienced in how these things work out or how races grow in the early

  • Comments: Eventpower really knows how to put on a race. I was a little apprehensive, given the issues people seemed to have with the swim last year, but knowing they haven't hesitated in the past to cancel swims, I trusted their judgment at signed up. As I said earlier, the water was probably the nicest water I've swam in for a race, and they really went out of their way to ensure that those who were concerned could rinse off (they set up a little shower that everyone ran through on the way out, and you could really rinse off well if you wanted to). The staff at these events is always great, and the energy from both the eventpower staff and, even the police at the intersections, was excellent. Even when I was really struggling through the second lap, I had to smile at the volunteers who were doing their best to keep everyone motivated in the disgusting humidity. My only negative was that the road conditions were a little iffy, with some bad patches, and I saw a number of other people who got

  • Comments: Always like the way Steve and crew put on a race. Was concerned about cancelling the swim with the previous week's weather forecast.

  • Comments: This was a great innagural event....I would do it again....even though the participation and fans was average for the distance having the long boardwalk for people to watch you finish and cheer during the swim and running down mainst to the crowd as well as the bike was a gresat lift.....I may not do it next year because IMLP but I would reccomened this race and would do it again in subsequent years

  • Comments: 2/3 of this race was good and I have to be satisfied with that. I have to get my running better and get out of this slump.

  • Comments: Event Power LI put on a great race for the inugural race in Riverhead. Plenty of volunteers, great finish on Main St. and good and challenging course. Two things that I am not sure they can improve would be the swim in the canal. It was ok and the traffic being opened on Sound Ave. for the bike leg. You really needed to be on your toes for that part of the bike course as there is a limited shoulder on the road. Safety was the prioirty there.
