  • Comments: Plenty of ice, plenty of drinks, plenty of friendly, helpful volunteers, police and fire police. Very good race, Rev3 puts on a very good production and is a good organization who keeps the racers and the people in mind. I love how they have race categories just for military/first responders (general police, fire, ambulance, etc) as well as a physically challenged category. Also, proceeds from the beer folks can buy on site go to an organization that helps prevent teen suicide. Good causes.

  • Comments: Is this my final swan song in multipart? There are 8 of us in the Aquabike division that Rev3 lost the bike splits on. I am guessing at my time based off what my swim was and my total time.

  • Comments: Despite my miserable experience during the race it had nothing to do with the race organizers or the course. The weather on this this day just conspired against them and the participants to make the race a down right miserable affair. Their were plenty of aid stations, and volunteers, the course was well marked out and actually pretty nice if was any other day. The swag for the race was really nice as well. All things being equal I would be inclined to do the race again. However, knowing how the heat effects me during races I will have seriously consider finding someplace else to run during this time of year.

  • Comments: Didn't get to see the expo or post race but I liked the course changes and it was much smoother in the morning than last year. Good race but a so-os performance.

  • Comments: Really a well done event. I understand Rev3 had some issues with the inaugural event, but from all I saw, they paid very close attention to correcting those issues this year. I really would have preferred an aide station for the bike course, but understand that resources are somewhat limited. I prefer to have a beer at the finish, but understand licensing for such thing can bee tricky. I loved the finisher Visor. May be my favorite finisher gift ever. The long-sleeve cotton t-shirt kind of sucks though. I don't even like the "flesh colored" color. Still, I am seriously considering doing this event next year... maybe even the HIM, though can't imagine the temps/conditions being a perfect as they were today.

  • Comments: I met my all my segment goals for the race which meant I bettered my overall goal of sub-2:30:00, too - 2:28:42. That was good enough for second in my AG, and the REV3 tri bling that I won would've made Flavo Flav himself proud! The overall winner finished in just under two hours - 1:58:04. He was showered, dressed, and on his second cup of Joe when he met me at the finish line 30 minutes later. I hate that guy! REV3 puts on a good race. I rated this particular event a 4 because it wasn't quite as good as REV3 Knoxville for two reasons: 1. REV3 Knoxville finished in a mown field at the Worlds Fair Park, which was very nice. REV3 Williamsburg finished in the parking lot of a sports complex, which was anything but nice. No shade, plenty of heat island effect, and just plain hot! No cool grass under our bare feet afterwards like in Knoxville : ( 2. REV3 Williamsburg included a 20-minute bus ride between T2 and T1 the morning of the race because the two spots were separated

  • Comments: I love Rev 3. I love having 2 transition areas, it's a more spectator friendly venue and a fun event.

  • Comments: There are some kinks for Rev3 to work out in Williamsburg. Love the organization so I hope they get things worked out.

  • Comments: A first time event at a brand new venue are expected to have a few gliches. The shuttles to the start took longer due to traffic pattern coming back led to long lines and it took a while to get the bags back from T1 since the labors didn't show up. Rev3 crew and team stepped up big time and sorted bags. NormaTec tent was great, food was really good and finally. I had a great time.

  • Comments: This was my first OWS race, so I was nervous about that. I had no idea what to expect time-wise, so I said 3 hours. When I noticed that I might be able to hit 2:40, I was too late to push for it. That and the uphill finish limited the chance for that time. The event had a lot of initial kinks and problems. 1. Getting athletes to the start on time; 2. allowing someone to park outside T1 so that the course had to be changed the morning of the race; 3. the timing was screwed up the entire race and is still somewhat screwed up; 4. no post-race food or activities nearby for family (Rev3 is supposed to be a family race); 5. most importantly, it took them over 4 hours to return bags from T1 to the finish. That's simply unacceptable. I am very happy with my performance.

  • Comments: Inaugural races are hard, and I have all of the sympathy and understanding in the world for how difficult it can be to pull these events off. I am sure that Rev3 will address the logistical issues with this race. I personally will probably choose to do a different race in the future, but I wouldn't rule this one out forever provided future years improve. Pros: 1. Loved having a practice swim the day before. 2. The volunteers were all great. Cons: 1. The two transitions didn't work very well. Bussing that many athletes and spectators to the start is always going to be a problem if it's not perfectly executed. 2. It seems that there were issues with getting the bike course closed to traffic as originally planned? There were points where I felt extremely unsafe. There were also parts of the road that I thought were incredibly rough. 3. The dry clothes and swim-to-bike bags weren't bussed to the finish until 1:30pm. I finished the race before 10:30am! I was extremely lucky

  • Comments: I would most definitely do another Rev 3 race. Other than the serious lack of morning shuttles from T2 to race start site I have no issues with the organization. Every volunteer from check in to finish line was FANTASTIC. Positive and encouraging.
