  • Comments: Great race with a small town feel to it. Well organized. Only drawback which I see hasn't been fixed from last year: bike rack/tubes in transition are way to flimsy!! Finished the race again this year, and came back to transition to see two full racks full of bikes all tipped over again! Cheap, poorly made and set up! A shame to see a few really nice and expensive bikes falling over because when one person slightly moves their equipment. Otherwise, love this race and venue!

  • Comments: This was a small, but well put on race. My focus here was to get a solid race under my belt before NYC in August.

  • Comments: Smaller race as far as participants. Nicely organized event. Awards included metals and for the top finishes a nicely hand painted awards plate. Something different, nice touch. Road conditions for bike segment sort of rough, but nothing orgnizers can do about that. Only negative thing about this event.....the bike racks in transition were terrible! I personally saw 3 racks get toppled over and I was told by my transition neighbor that the rack I was on also, fell right after I left T2. Saw a few very expensive bikes go falling to the ground. Too bad. Each time you racked your bike or anyone else did on the same rack the whole thing moved and swayed. Improvements definately needed here. Otherwise, very fun event. Weather was great, nicely organized! Special thanks to Lowell Police Dept. for providing a safe crossing of all necessary busy intersections and crossing! They were very supportive of all athletes! Would probably do this event next year.

  • Comments: This race had a little added bonus for me. Sen. Scott Brown was racing today. I could really care less about the fame factor. A lot of my team mates posed for pictures. I was interested in how good he was, what kind of gear he used, and how he treated people on the whole. He is a very good triathlete, finishing 3rd overall in the sprint. Rides a trek which is good in my book, and was very friendly to everyone. Ok, so now I can say I have taken a beating from a US senator in a triathlon. Never thought that would be something I could say. I guess it is more fun to say I raced with him though ;)

  • Comments: Despite how tired I was and a really awful run...I was first in my age group...minus one elite racer who was not considered for awards in the age group...so couldn't believe it...was first in my age group for first time ever...even though wasn't my best race...I was hanging on to being first!

  • Comments: I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this race. It was small, with lots of great volunteers (including the police auxilliary). Specators were along the entire route cheering us on. I felt bad for those doing the Oly. They started after us and had to suffer in the heat even more.

  • Comments: Day of Race just after race: To be continued since I didn't really stick around for my official times (and forgot my watch at home). I guess I was spoiled by FIRM racing who posted the results within hours of the finish of the Webster Tri and thought Active.com would do the same and definitely haven't as of yet and doesn't seem they will for a while. I'm seem to remember seeing something like 1:53 when I crossed the finishline but I'll have to wait and actually see. Anyhow, it was a pretty good race but the run (predominantly walk) was soooooo slow! I so have to work on the running and I knew the extra mile to make the run 4 miles was going to be tough, but sadly I must have walked a good 70% of the walk. I'm so not a runner-and that's what I really have to work on. The swim, while murky and not very strong for me as a so-called seasoned swimmer-moved along. The upstream swim wasn't really affecting me, but I think I was just to busy trying to get some sort of form to realize
