  • Comments: Great place to race. Lots of volunteers from the community. Lots of support on the bike and run course with cheers coming from all over. Only 160 participants so not crowded. Th only problem was not being able to get breakfast after the race. Thanks Ken for offering and Y for jockstrapping me.

  • Comments: This race is put on by the neighborhood association they have it in. So the volunteers are locals often stepping out their front door to work. Venue is good with a challenging swim most the time in Lake Ontario. I was glad the Mike came out to play and finished. Y did great. I was a little worried about her on the swim but yesterdays swim let me know she could handle it. Glad the water wasn't 53 like it was for Hamilton Beach a couple weeks ago. With a scant 200 competitors its fun.

  • Comments: Overall a well organized event. The course layout is fair. While waves supposively have been an issue in the past, today the lake was flat. The field was a mix of experienced and novice, and with the women starting first there was a lot of traffic on the bike course - only an issue for those that get upset with a lack of proper riding techniques. I would say a good event to participate in.

  • Comments: It's a small local sprint. No frills, but well done. Great volunteers. The community really goes out of their way to support it and Yellowjacket always puts on a good race.

  • Comments: I have never thought about doing Sodus due to the swim. I'm glad Mike brought it up. It was my third to get my USTA ranking. Waht made it fun was doing it with Mike in my AG. I guess there was a bike craxh on one of the leaders. He may have hit a pothole. I heard they airlifted him to Strong hospital. Mike and I are one for one so we'll have to see how the Finger Lakes Tri works out. Maybe then we'll both puke. Great little race limited to 200 participants. Plenty of volunteers. Lots of cheering crowds. I felt bad for the newbies and poor swimmers in that rough water. I am glad they didn't cancel. Won't blame them if they did. I hope to be able to do it next year too. Mike you are on for Finger Lakes.

  • Comments: Since I've done a lot of races now, I can see the Yellow Jacket is not as organized. There's little security for the transition area. Not sure if I will do this race next year.
