A better bike is not the answer to meeting your performance goals. I mean if you gave Nike running shoes to a tortoise would he move any faster?

Well, if you are like me, you are still riding indoors way more than you like and you are clamoring for the wind in your hair and some warm sunshine on your shoulders. But it’s icy, snowy or rainy out. With no way to ride, how should you spend that time?

Bored with the trainer and no to way ride outside I constantly hear the young riders turning their thoughts toward bike porn. It’s as if they can’t physically train that they think a new shiny bike might help them improve their performance. They talk about the latest in light bikes and cool gadgets. They drool over the new $5,000 bike and wish they could justify buying this new beautiful art form. I just shake my head. Like Lance said, it’s not about the bike - especially at this early stage in your cycling career. A better bike is not the answer to meeting your performance goals. I mean if you gave Nike running shoes to a tortoise would he move any faster?
