Comments: Felt pretty good. The use of HR monitor was a great help in making sure I didn't start to fast and kept pace consistant throughout race. I drank at every station, had a gu pack every 45 minutes and even a pack of salt twice during the race. Calves cramped last two miles, but didn't want to stop for fear I would never start again. Incredible feeling to complete my first marathon. What would you do differently?: Should have done more hill training to prepare for course. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Tried to stay moving and on my feet for first 30 minutes. Drank lots of water/gatorade. Event comments: Beautiful scenery throughout the course which made for an amazing experience. I wish more people were running or watching because it got lonely as the race went into 20+ miles. I could have used some more support at the end, especially for my first marathon.
