Comments: Probably not a good idea to set my goal at 3 minutes less than previous PR (wanted to get in under 24 minutes) when moonlighting the night before the race. Probably would've felt better to run this race having eaten some breakfast and slept more than 4 hours the night prior. Nonetheless, 12 seconds shy of the 24 minute goal is a win in my book; especially since I don't have to set the bar lower for my next 5k. Having said that, I gave this race all I had, and it felt good. Well, it felt good after I cooled down. What would you do differently?: Sleep. Eat. Warm up. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked 1 mile back through the course to find the kids, then jogged to the finish with them. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of proper sleep, hydration.
