| Subject: How Much/How Often? for training
| I'm currently signed up for 3 sprint tri's (7/11, 7/19, 9/5), an olympic (8/16), an philly marathon (11/22). Can i safely train and be effective in all these races? Also after the olympic tri, XC season starts at my school so i can focus on running.
Secondly, over the winter and early spring months i had tennis, so i could not "endurance" train freqeuntly. Now i have jumped backed into my training (7 miles is a avg run day, 20-50 mile bike rides, 50 min of swimming). The problem is i often feel tired/sore the day after a workout, so i sometimes take a day off, so im training maybe 5 days a week. Can i still compete at a high level, or should i take a few more days off? or train easier, but 6-7 times a week. I'm worried if i take too much time off, i will lose my progress, but at the same time i dont want to "lose my fitness". |
