Pre-race routine:

woke up at 4:30 am got dressed made oatmeal , coffee for the cvar ride down. Arrived at my brothers at 6:00am (bathroom) and dressed, wore shorts - should of wore pants, went to meet Chris my brothers running group. Met them Joe, Jim, and Carolyn, then went to the race.

Event warmup:

Drank water, stretched, bathroom again, then waited for race to start.

Comments:

Very crowded at starttoo almost 2mins to cross starting line, first mile @ 10:15, then started to move alittle faster. I made a decision not to try to keep up w/ my brother and joe, so I ran w/ jim and carolyn. Aroud mile 4 carolyn pulled ahead alittle. I stayed w/ jim 10 min miles till mile 7 then I took off. I was running 9min or sub 9 min miles till the end. At mile 11 I passed Carolyn and finished about 2 mins ahead of her.
What would you do differently?:

Left Jim at mile 4. I felt real strong at the end and hind sight is 20/20 I could have run faster earlier. May have broke 2hrs then but who knows??????????????
Start in the front not the middle back portion.I could not believe the poor runners I passed and the fact that I had to pass them
Post race
Warm down:

stetched and was very cold from running the entire race in the rain.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

rain.

Event comments:

was to cold to hang out after the race and a mile walk back to the car. Chris and I went back to his house and had a couple of beers.
Tomorrow start to get ready for Gold Coast Tri. on fathers day.
