Lexington Triathlon - 7/25/09

FYI, this race is this Saturday. I did this last year as my first Tri and it was absolutely beautiful. They will be having same-day registration that morning so if anyone out there is looking for nice race that's not too far away then this may be the ticket.

For those of you who have never been to Lexington, or perhaps have just driven through it, it's a really nice summer place.

My opinion? This is a GREAT first-time race for a beginning triathlete. The atmosphere is VERY laid back, it's a flat course, the run has plenty of neighborhood shade and again, it's beautiful there. I expect the competition may be a little tougher this year, since last year was their innaugural race, but hey...the competition is really with ourselves, right?

I'll be there, along with my brother Brian, havin' a great time. If you happen to see a "Team Sandbag" jersey or two...say hello!
