Comments: I was a great day for a race. I had never run 13 miles before so I was prepared to have to walk some of it. To my suprise, I ended up having a great run and never walked once. What would you do differently?: I need to do a lot more longer runs to get more use to it. ![]() Post race
Warm down: After the finsih line we were given food and drink and herded into a nerby park. There you could find your family and friends. They had live music, food, and booths to walk around. I did some light stretching and started looking for my wife. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was not use to running 13 miles. I started out too slow and it cost me probably 5-10 minutes. I was afraid I would not have enough energy by the end but I ended up having plenty. Event comments: I will definitly do this race again next year. I want to break the 2 hour mark. Last updated: 2005-04-07 12:00 AM

Woke up and had a light snack and drank some gatorade.
There was not much room for stretching while you were packed into the corrals for the start. The only warm-up was walking for about 15 minutes to get to the start line because there were so many people.
