Advice?

So I have done several Olympic distance tri's and am looking at a half iron next summer. I have been riding a road bike Orbea Vuelta with tri bars attached everything else is stock. I am curious if I should get a new ride that is tri specific or maybe just put some upgrades into my bike. Let's say my budget is 1000 but do not feel the need to spend all of it. New wheels on the orbea? Sell the orbea and pick up a used tri bike? Probably another topic entirely but I am 6 ft and 210 and a bit concerned with purchasing a used aluminum frame as I hear the lifespan could be as low as 5 years. All opinions welcomed. Thanks
