Subject: Foot PainSorry, this is a little long for the question I have. Thanks for your time and input in advance.
So, I finished my first Half Ironman on Saturday and really had a great race. During the race I noticed a slight pain over the top of my foot, really only feeling it when I pushed off with my toes. It didn't bother me enough that I had to walk, but it was a new "pain". I felt it for a day after the race, but it soon went away and I didn't think about it much till last night. I know that after such a big race I should have taken more time off, but I was really looking forward to playing some basketball with the neighborhood guys that I usually play with once a week. So I played last night and after about an hour and half my foot really started to bother me. I immediatly stopped and have taken in very easy today. Despite that my foot does hurt more than It did after the race. I am concerned about a stress fracture of something of the sort since I have a short sprint planned in 10 days, and an Olmpic 14 days after that. Does the foot just need some rest, or is this somthing I should be more concerned about. |
