Subject: NEW Bruce Freeman Rail Trail - Lowell
There is a new bike trail that starts in Lowell called the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail.  Right now the trail is only ~7 miles long.  When completed it will be 25 miles long can connect Lowell to Framingham.  I heard about it from the Lowell sun article ( http://www.lowellsun.com/ci_13192511).

I deiced to take a ride on it this afternoon for my bike work out.  Starting in Lowell wasn't to bad besides dealing with normal Lowell traffic.  The beginning of the rail trail does have you cross RT 110 and the RT 4 in a very short span and then you cross 1 more major road before you get long stretches of good biking.  As most rail trials it is flat in the woods and there are a lot of bugs that will go into your mouth if you are not careful (as I experienced).  The trail ends/ begins at the intersection of RT 225 and RT 27.

Over all it was a good ride and not to have a lot of hills.  Though I don't think I will be riding it a lot because having to stop repeatably at intersections at the beginning and end of the ride was not fun.  Once the whole project is done though it will be nice to do much longer rides that will be relatively flat.  Also because its new not a lot people where on it.
