Subject: Tapering and PeakingTriathlon training is definitely exhilirating and confusing, yet rewarding on race day. All three sports are extremely addictive and I've structured my training programs around groups in each specialization. Of course, competing in each discipline comes with the territory. Incorporating races into the training plan is definitely the confusing part. I recently ran a sub 2 hr half marathon followed a week later by a century in Monterey with over 8500' of climb. Amazingly my legs felt strong afterward......thanks to Hammer Nutrition. With an Olympic distance coming up in a week (two weeks following the century ), should I be increasing the intensity of the training or tapering to prepare for the tri? Any feed back would be appreciated since I'm sure this will be a recurring issue on the road to an IM. |
