Comments: Felt great once calves loosened up. much better performance than the Out and Back Run. Drank too much and got cramps during mile 3. Walked to stop cramps. Still had enough for a sprint to the finish. What would you do differently?: Take only a sip of water and try to run through cramps. Post race
Warm down: Stretching and walking to car. What limited your ability to perform faster: shin splints Event comments: I ran with a guy for a while and we were chatting about running. He talked to me after the race and said that he is a track coach and he noticed my running gait. I had mentioned that I had shin splints. He confirmed what I had suspected....I am running on my toes instead of my heel or midfoot. He suggested that I have someone evaluate my gait to see how it can be changed to avoid a similar problem in the future. Last updated: 2005-05-15 12:00 AM

Ate Bowl of Cereal and walked from car to race site. Stretched before leaving house and at race site.
