Pre-race routine:

I think I got maybe 2 hours of real sleep on my friends couch. NY isn't exactly quiet at any point in the night. Woke up at 4.15 and caught a cab to the start.
Event warmup:

Putting on my wetsuit.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 1500 meters
  • / 100 meters
Comments:

I was just glad to finish the swim. I did pretty well considering this was my first Tri. It was a long swim though.
What would you do differently?:

Focus a bit better. That was nerves though.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I was taking my time in transition. The whole goal of my first race was to finish, so I took my time to make sure I didn't forget anything.
What would you do differently?:

Have a better setup, push a bit more.
Bike
  • 00m
  • 40 kms
  • 0.00 km/hr
Comments:

Ahh, the bike, home sweet home. I rode well, especially the second half, and really moved up in the standings.
What would you do differently?:

Get more practice time on the aero bar, or work on a more comfortable position. I could really fly in aero, but had to take some breaks because it was uncomfortable. Probably could have pushed it more on the uphills too.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Not bad, but could have been faster. I still wasn't really trying to push it just to make sure I didn't forget anything. I wasn't in any hurry to start running either.
Run
  • 00m
  • 10 kms
  •  min/km
Comments:

Ouch. I hate running. The first mile and a half were painful. The next three miles were better. I actually got into a steady pace. The last 2 miles were really hard, but I finished. I knew the run was going to bad, but I did it. I could have run harder, but my legs really hurt. My foot still hurts like hell 3 days later.
What would you do differently?:

Run more. Do more bike/run bricks.
Post race
Warm down:

Uhh...walking around looking for my family?

Event comments:

I did it. It was my first race, and the goal was to finish. I wanted to finish somewhere around 3 hours, and I came in just over that.
It will only get better from here.
