Subject: FIRST TRI, NEED ADVICE Im running my first tri this sunday july, 24. I feel mentally and phisically ready, but i have some questions about fuel for the race...
i plan to eat a bagel with oj in the morning prior to the race. I might sip on some gatorade after my warmup/stretch up to 15 minutes before the swim. At T1 i plan to chug about 10 oz of gatorade high endurance formula. I'll have water on my bike. During the latter part of the bike i want to try a hammer gel. Again at T2 I will chug some more gatorade. On the run I will take water when needed...
the race should take no more then two hours in the hot/humid florida sun...
is this too much or too little, i know there is a happy medium...
also im concerned because i am not known as an early riser or early to bedder, so i'll probabaly not sleep much the night before...
