Pre-race routine:

Drove down to Fort Wayne from Wisconsin. Arrived at 11:30PM local time after spending 7 hours in the car...didnt eat from 3:30PM on and had too much diet coke so I could fall asleep right away. Got up at 5:45AM and started to get ready.

Drove with my family down to the start area. Dropped some buddies off at the pool and got ready to go. Decided to run with my brother...he was off like a rabbit and it was downhill from there...

Comments:

it was really clogged up for the 1st mile...ran an 8:40 first mile but felt faster with all the moving around. First 5K was around 26:50, first 5 miles were 42:30...about 25 sec behind my brother... 1:27:40 at 10 miles. Last 5K 27:31...this race was nice, but I definitely did not train for this type of race. It showed in the later half of the race. I did come within 11 sec of my race goal so I cant really complain. It is also the 2nd fastest half I have completed...
What would you do differently?:

Train for the race distance...

Warm down:

walked around and had a couple of Powers hamburgers...like White Castle but much better...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not training for the distance
