Run
Comments: Felt pretty good on this run. Some tightness or "rubbing" on my left T band-no issue What would you do differently?: dug a little deeper on the climb-faster Transition 1
Comments: I had set my bike in transition but did not bother to set up the straps and tongue properly, although I jumped on ok, it took a bit longer to get in and tightened up What would you do differently?: Pay attention to details... Bike
Comments: I had a good ride though much slower than my original goal which was progressively lowered over the months. Looking back, I would probably had been better served with a slightly slower bike leg since my run-2 suffered so badly. I took one Gu 3/4 way through the bike ride...coming out of T-2 I grabbed a warm gatorade from a volunteer-ended up with some stomach issues What would you do differently?: Ease up a bit..especially on the upwind leg Transition 2
Comments: I'm not sure why my transition was so much slower except my wife said I didn't look "right". Once again I dug kind of deep on my bike leg wanting to be under 1 hours that transitioning to the second run was harder than I had expected-even given all the bricks I had done. What would you do differently?: Focus-go faster Run
Comments: The stomach issues nagged me in run 2, gaseous and some pain. No IT band problems but definitely beat. I dug in before rounding the corner for a final strong run into the finish (photographer there and wife). In retrospect-if I had any sprint left then I could probably have metered it out more consistently on the whole run for a better overall time. What would you do differently?: Dial in my nutrition plan better or skip the guy altogether on sprints. I had never had issues with Gu before and that includes ultra cycling downing 1 after another Post race
Warm down: walk around, cool water-regain my composure What limited your ability to perform faster: Possibly 2 weeks off leading up to it. I need to work on my Time Trial/riding more. Last updated: 2010-07-27 12:00 AM
