Comments:

First open water swim. Got nailed by a swimmer coming from the other direction--her fault. Course was only 5 feet deep, touched the ground a lot even by the bouy.
What would you do differently?:

Relax, take more strokes before navigating. Swim.

Nothing, I thought it was pretty good for only training w/ about 120 miles before hand.

Run harder. Train shorter distances. Track workouts, sprints etc...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Experience, poor swim, too much water/gel causing a side ache, and over just lack of intensity--I was pacing myself.

Event comments:

Thank god I could touch the bottom at all time during the swim. I would do this again next year.
