Run
Comments: I started the first mile which is flat on the fire road headed to the hills. Ran a 7:17. Got to the major hill and went chuggin up it. Some wet spots and down trees, nothing you couldn't jump over or go around. Went up the mile long hill at 10:47. After that its gently rolling until mile 5 1/2 or so. I felt good and had a guy that was pacing me well. When we got to our decent I started flying as I love to descend hills. Final splits were all mid 7 min with one under 7 where it was all down hill. Crossed the finish line and passed off the baton to my partner for the second part of the leg. What would you do differently?: Attacked the first hill even a bit more. I didn't hold much back, but I had some left in the tank at the end. Post race
Warm down: Drank some water, stretched a bit, ate some food. Waited for nick. What limited your ability to perform faster: Some congestion on the trails. Event comments: It's only 10 bucks. the local club puts on a lot of races at beautiful Annadel State Park. These are trail runs so bring your own water. I ran the first 7 mile leg in the cool morning so I didn't carry anything. IF you like water however, bring your own, no aid stations. Last updated: 2011-04-03 12:00 AM
