Comments: This was my first 10km run done at a race. Was stoked to go under 50mins. What would you do differently?: Just wear short sleeve top, not with long sleeve underneath. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Transitions not timed. Reasonable tranistion to bike. ![]() Bike
Comments: The bike is normally where i pick up some time and catch a few runner in front of me. Not this time. Whether it was effect of the 10km run or residual effect of the chest cold, but i basically fell apart on bike. Was aiming for 1.20 (avge 30km/h) but got nowhere near it. Legs where aching in different places and I struggled to race on aerobars. People I would normally catch, pulled away. kudos to them. Disppointed. What would you do differently?: Be well! ![]() Transition 2

Comments: All things considered I hung on ok in the final run (avge 5.17 mins/km). Wasn't many people left on the course by then. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Stretching. Ate recovery bar. What limited your ability to perform faster: Physical health. Event comments: Duathlon is *hard* on the legs! Overall was totally glad I raced. Considering how I had felt during the week I did my best. As always, its about having a go and encouraging fellow club members along the way. Proved to myself I can do longer distance races. Definitely be back next year. Makes me look forward to longer triathlons in the coming season. Last updated: 2005-08-25 12:00 AM
