Comments: Started off at what I thought was a nice slow and relaxed pace. Ended up being a 10:54 for the first mile. I was sucking wind all the way. My legs felt good throughout the run but my lungs hated the cold air. I planned on walking for a minute at each mile marker but because of the breathing problems ended up walking a lot more than I would have liked. I am very happy with the results since this was my first in 11 years. What would you do differently?: Although the treadmill has worked on my leg strength and speed it does not help with my breathing so I will start training outdoors a lot more. I was not cold at all during the run. I thought I drank a lot but my mouth was dry by the time I ran the first mile. Might have dried quicker because of the cold. Post race
Warm down: Did a little stretching walked around in the arena a lot and ate bagels and drank juce. What limited your ability to perform faster: The cold air in my lungs. Event comments: This is a well organized race. The start and finish lines were at the Blue Cross Arena so there was plenty of bathroom facilities and we had a place to keep warm. My wife and sister in law even got to watch our local indoor lacrosse team practice when I was running. Last updated: 2004-03-16 3:58 PM

Slept like Crap. Maybe got four hours of sleep. When looked out the window there was snow on the groung. By race time the sun was out and most of the snow was gone. Thank GOD!!!
Did some stretching and walking and a lot of peeing. Also got a back alignment, they also stretched my hamstrings.
