Comments: It was freaking cold!!!! I decided against wearing a long sleeve shirt and I paid for it. I felt like I was always running into the wind. There was not much competion it this race so I was by myself the whole race, which really sucked. It is really hard to keep a consistant pace when no one is close to you. The 3 guys ahead of me ran 16 min and the closest behind me was 22. I felt like I was in no man's land. What would you do differently?: I started out running/pacing with the 16 mins guys for the first mile which was not the best idea. I got to the first mile at 5:30 and decided that I would die if I kept up the pace for any longer. Next time I might start out alittle slower and keep that energy for the end of the race. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Cheered on my friends who all had great times. My friend Luke finished in 24 min with no training!!! Went back and walked with my friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being in no man's land most of the race. I had a bad sinus infection which it made it hard to breath. I think I could broke 20 if I did not have the sinus problems, Event comments: Very small race but it was for a good cause. Had alot of fun and would probably do it again. Sadly enough I really dont have one.
Did a light warm-up run with my friend Luke. This was his first 5K in years and you could tell. He is about 6'2 and was a great runner in highschool. Since then he lost all of his form but still is fairly fast.
