Comments: I wasn't sure what to expect given that I haven't really been training much and had cycled yesterday so I started with the aim of running steady race and keeping an eye on the time only at mile markers. Went through first mile at just over 7 minute pace, and decided to try to keep to 7:15 minute miles. This pace was quite hard work but not as tough as the last 10k had felt. Maintained this pace and comfortably inside for first 5 miles but attention started to wander by 6 mile marker - I was only just inside pace at this point so I gritted my teeth and ran as hard as I could to the finish line. Very pleased to have achieved a PB. What would you do differently?: More consistent training in run-up to race. ![]() Post race
Warm down: I stretched and waited for Georgia to finish, then went for short jog with her. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of consistency in recent training. Event comments: Nice race, made even better when I realised how many people I knew running race today. Pleased to run PB. Last updated: 2005-05-11 12:00 AM

Travelled to race and drank half bottle of carbohydrate drink. Met Georgia and (reluctantly - it was pretty cold) took off outer layers to do warm-up.
Jogged for about ten minutes with Georgia.
