Comments:

There is a reason why the Shipbuilders Triathlon in not sanctioned by the USAT.......... The swim to the shipbuilders is a 1 mile course going up river at slack water, the 4 starting waves continuing as the tide comes in.

Place:Prerace Saftey meeting 0800, 1hr before race start, Race Director: "Let's talk about the swim, you want to keep the last RedBull bouy to the left and the tower bouy to you right, don't pass on the inside of the redbull bouy, repeat don't pass inshore of the redbull bouy, There are big edies there and if you get into one of them you will not get out!" (Apparently because of the seaward flow of the river and the incomming tide, extremely strong eddies are generated that are basicly whirlpool currents that can suck you in ) Yeowwwwww!!! I looked at Dave our team swimmer and told him number 1 don't drown, number 2 finish the course , after that everything will be alright. I have to hand it to him he did a good job, as did craig our runner, we ended up winning the mens relay in the Shipbuilders.

Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition from swim to bike consisted of swimmer going to rider to pass wrist band which is what was used for relay. Then rider pushed bike to a line outside of transition area to mount and start riding.
