  • 820 yards
  • 21s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 04m 1s
Comments:

The transition was tough as we had to run/walk up a large ram to the top of the cliff where the tran-area was located. My suit did get stuck. And there was quite a bit of caked sand on my feet from the beach. Also had to put back on wedding ring that I forgot to leave at home and didn't want to swim with for fear of losing in the ocean.
What would you do differently?:

Take the time to dunk my feet in the bucket at the bottom of the ramp to get the caked sand off. Try the Pam on my ankles rather than Glide. Leave wedding ring at home.
Bike
  • 44m 11s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 16.88 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt good on the bike. Did more passing than being passed. Legs did yell at me a couple of times and I backed off remembering my motto for the day was "have fun" and I still had a run to do.
Transition 2
  • 01m 58s
Comments:

Fingers not working so good on the lacing.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get those Yankz up and running.
Run
  • 31m 23s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

Running is just tough for me. However, looking at the pace I say "Woohoo!". I couldn't ask for a better time or the course was short. Anyway I ran 9 minutes and walked a minute just like I do on longer runs to give me some recovery.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing race specific. Just keep up the running practice.

Course: Well, it changed several times. We were expecting a storm and the guards spent quite a bit of time evaluating the current, the waves, the chop the rips to determine whether we would swim at all. They decided we would swim, but it would be only 250m. After the first wave left and they watched them fight out and get pulled down the beach, they decided that we would swim 125m. After the second wave left and the had to pull everone out via jet ski they decided we would basically go out to our waists and swim/walk down the beach 50m and get out. Strangest swim experience I ever had and quite taxing on the legs as we fought the current.
