Comments: I let the guy behind me pass, then got stuck behind a slow-ish swimmer who would not let me pass her at the walls. I stayed on her heels, often leisurely backstroking, the entire swim segment. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: The run to T1 was rocky and hurt my bare feet. Surprisingly, my leg with the stress fracture held up on the run. I realized that I had no laid my HRM out and my bike was in too high a gear. I was able to fish my HRM out of my bag and mash my way onto the bike without difficulty. ![]() Bike
Comments: Averaged 20-22 MPH on flats. Climbed well on the hill and never got passed. What would you do differently?: Work on climbing strength. I "spun" up the hill and could have gone much faster in a higher gear. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: C'mon people... learn how to dismount! What would you do differently?: Dismount earlier to avoid the crush of non-cyclists trying to dismount. ![]() Run
Comments: Considering the fact that I had a stress fracture, the run went well. I stopped to walk when the pain got too bad, but toughed it out to finish my first tri. What would you do differently?: I will never again run with a stress fracture (repeated 100 times). ![]() Post race
Warm down: Does racing to the food tent count as a warm-down? What limited your ability to perform faster: Leg injury Last updated: 2005-11-04 12:00 AM
