Nothing, I think that was the best I was capable of on the day.

Tottered/limped back to the sports hall. Drank anything I could get my hands on and tried to stretch bit.

First lap, nice and strong, running mainly on pulse.  Either the mile markers weren't accurately placed or I can't pace for toffee as I was varying between 7'30 and 7'50.

Second lap thigs start to hurt a bit, but I still felt good.  On for 3h30 at the halfway point, but not up by much, so realistically knew then I'd mised my target.

Third lap legs really starting to hurt now, mainly tensor facilis (sp??), pace really started to drop off, was struggling to maintain 8'20s , but got over the hill(21-22) and the bank(24), all down from here.  Thought I was back in with a long shot for 3h30 so let my pulse go higher and kicked for home.  Picked off a few other runners but got to 26 at 3h31, last 0.2mile so kicked hard.  As ever the red mist came down, and I ended up in a sprint finish.  But I won that so I'm happy.
