Comments: All the work on stride rate is paying off! Start was very crowded and ran the first 1/4 mile with my wife at ~ 8:15 min pace. Picked up the pace and ran 1st mile in 7:35, picked off a lot of runners who went out way too fast! Ran 2nd mile in 7:00, continued to pick off runners. Pace was felt perfect and did not feel any fatigue, could have run a faster pace but middle part of course was very dark and did not feel all that comfortable about it. Progressively upped pace last 1/4 mile to full sprint. Couldn't let the little kids beat me! What would you do differently?: Start up front with the faster runners. Post race
Warm down: 2 miles run in Z3-Z2 with my wife. What limited your ability to perform faster: Very narrow in the beginning with lots of tight turns, lots of kids & slow people running up front that did not keep to their general lanes (cutting corners). Middle part of course was dark, hard to see people ahead or be confident about the footing. Last updated: 2005-12-18 12:00 AM

Did not swim today. Relaxed and took a nap to catch-up from the previous 2 days of +12 hours of work and late night to bed.
1 mile Z1-Z2 warm-up run right before the start of the race.
