Swim
Comments: I was the first one out of the pool but it was close. I could've gone much faster, but I had a bad/nervous start. I would've liked to be in better race shape for the swim. What would you do differently?: I would defintaly start more at my pace and not worry about the other person in my lane as much. I would also control my breathing and think much more about my stroke. Transition 1
Comments: It's not really a full transition since, you just put on your running shoes and get on the bike, but as far as getting to my assigned transition, having a chair to sit down on and nothing else to worry about it went really quickly. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: The stationary bike sits more upright than my road/training bike so I used my quads and hams much more than usual. I think the bike was a bit to high for me because I noticed a lot of hip shifting. It's difficult to race on a stationary bike because you don't know how fast everyone else is going. What would you do differently?: I would fix the seat and warm-up a little more so I know what to expect. I would also concentrate more on my rpm's rather than my mph. Transition 2
Comments: You just got off the bike and ran up a flight of stairs to the track. The flight of stairs made me a little tired, but I regulated pretty quickly. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: This is where I got beat. There were two very fast marathon women in the group. They were behind me the entire race in time, but blew me away with the run. If it had been a longer race, I could've beat them on the bike and with the swim, but they blew me away in the two miles. They beat me by 20 and 10 seconds total. What would you do differently?: I would like to say that I would run faster, but I ran as fast as I knew my body would let me. I just need to keep working on the running and having a faster pace. Post race
Warm down: I had to clear the track immediatly so I went to the cardio room and walked on a treadmill for 10 minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not being able to actually race on the bike, the stationary bike itself was not fast, my swim had a shaky start. Event comments: It was fun to have a race to look forward to in the winter. It was snowing and windy outside and we were running around the Y doing a tri, it was cool. I didn't stay for any awards because the event lasts all day because of only having 7 people in a heat. I never got my third place medal after emailing the race director several times. Ate as soon as I woke up. Drove 1 hr to get there in snow so it kept me from being nervous. Checked-in, set-up my transistion, set my bike. Used the restroom and ran a few laps to warm up. Went to the pool did a quick 300 to warm-up.
