We got down there so early as I think we were some of the first. This was to see Gina off for her marathon. We had oatmeal, banana and a cup of coffee.

Performance:
For some reason, this was a hard race for me. I expected it to be easier, considering the flat terrain. However, my HR wouldn't come below 164 during the run and 147 during my walk breaks. I still continued with my 9min run/1min walk. Had some serious discussions about keeping going about mile 12. All in all, I'm happy with me time. It is between what I thought I could do and my dream time (for this race).
Course: I wasn't impressed with the "beauty" of the course, but it was certainly flat.
