VeloPress Publishes New Swim Workouts Book by Top Collegiate Coaches
Boulder, CO, March 1, 2006 - While freestyle is the most efficient stroke on race day, studies show that speed and skills improve when swimmers incorporate a variety of strokes into their training. To breathe new life into swim training, VeloPress has published Workouts in a Binder® for Swimmers, Triathletes, and Coaches.
With 100 new workouts, Workouts in a Binder® for Swimmers, Triathletes, and Coaches features drills and techniques for breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and crawl. Authors Nick Hansen and Eric Hansen give athletes six unique training plans that draw on their expertise as coaches and former national team swimmers to put it all together, including plans for different distance goals.
Swimmers, Triathletes, and Coaches is printed on waterproof paper to be just as durable as the popular swimming and cycling books in the Workouts in a Binder® series. Printed on waterproof paper in large, high-contrast color, the book has a unique design that allows it to be positioned upright on the pool deck for easy reference.
Nick Hansen is a former U.S. National Team swimming coach, University of Wisconsin head coach, and University of Arizona assistant coach. Currently, he coaches masters swimming in Loveland, Colorado. Eric Hansen has national and international experience as an athlete and coach of the U.S. National Team. He served as assistant coach of the 2003 Pan American Games U.S. team and head coach of the 2002 Short Course World Championships. Now as head coach at the University of Wisconsin, he oversees both the men's and women's swimming programs.
Swimmers, Triathletes, and Coaches is the second swim book in the Workouts in a Binder® series. The first book, Swim Workouts for Triathletes, was compiled by Nick Hansen and Olympic triathlon coach Gale Bernhardt.
