Comments: I really do better on hillier courses than this one, for some sick reason I run hills well (or maybe everyone else just runs slower). I probably lost a few seconds because I started from the back of the pack for this one, but still, I ran the first mile at a 8:15 split and overall at 8:51 pace which beats last Saturday's brick where I ran a 5Kish distance at 8:53. What would you do differently?: Get more sleep. I think I warmed up too much before the 5K run on Feb 18th and not enough for this 5K. Post race Warm down: Walked around the parking lot, ate a cookie, drank some water and Gatorade. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sleep. Genetics. I didn't warm up enough, and I think if it wasn't cheating, a rocket engine stuck up my ass might help me run a little faster. ;) Event comments: I really think the MS Track Club does a good job running their events. This is just my second race in a long time, but I like the job they do organizing it. The only negative thing I can say is they ran out of Gatorade at the end, but if that's the biggest problem, that's not a problem at all. I love running events. Lots of hot and attractive chicks. :) Last updated: 2006-03-11 12:00 AM |

Got up, grabbed a bag of generic frosted flakes, and munched on them driving down to the race.
Light jogging in the parking lot, and then walking three blocks to the starting line.
