Yet another video question

Does anyone have experience processing HD video taken with a Canon 5d Mark II camera?  I have the rig and the lenses, but I'm no videographer.  The video files seem too large for my computer to handle.  I have the Adobe suite that has Premiere Pro, however I've never used it..
