Swim
Comments: Swim went good. Never my strong suit but I did ok. I didn't go all out to keep my hr down but I did swim my fastest 300 time under race conditions. What would you do differently?: Caught the two swimmers in front of me but I didn't pass. Figured it would have juiced me to pass and stay ahead so I just drafted. Transition 1
Comments: First race w/ new tri shoes. I ran barefoot out of T1 instead of duck walking with cleats. Much better time. Mounted bike well and cleared the line. Bike
Comments: Pass a lot of riders. Only got passed once (by another Cervelo so that's ok). Never rode this route before so I held back some. Can go harder next time. What would you do differently?: Hammer a bit more. I left some on the table. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. Ran without socks this time. Elastic laces worked good. What would you do differently?: Run after putting on shoes. I stood still while attaching belt and hat. Can do that while moving. Run
Comments: Had a good pace going until halfway. Knees started hurting and I had to hobble back to the finish. I had plenty in the tank but the knees limit me. What would you do differently?: May knee brace for the next race. Post race
Warm down: Refueled What limited your ability to perform faster: Knees Event comments: Nice breakfast after race. Good job RTC. Last updated: 2012-06-30 12:00 AM

Up at 3:45. Drove 1:45 hours. Ate bagel with peanut butter and a coffee on the road. Unpacked gear and set up transistion. Air was a little chilly but not too bad. Ive raced in a lot worse.
Nothing other than stayed walking around the YMCA to stay warm. Saw some riding out on the road with out any lights. Way too dark to get in a preride.
