Swim
Comments: Being my first Tri I had no idea how to gauge how long 1 mile looks like in a lake, Announcer gets on and says do you see the buoys way down there? Sprint you go down and back, Oly you make 2 loops, my heart sank, It looked like 5 miles. I knew right then that I was not prepared at all for the swim What would you do differently?: swim more at the Rec Center, possibly take lessons Transition 1
Comments: Ok so my first transition, I wear socks, sorry I dont really know if I want to try wearing my bike shoes without socks. I don't feel like I took too long in T1, although I was not wearing a wetsuit. probably can be faster at this Bike
Comments: Bike went very well I thought. I had just put a set of Jammers on my road bike, only did a couple rides with them, What would you do differently?: get more used to my aero position Transition 2
Run
Comments: Started cramping up at mile 4.5 pushed through and finished a pretty good run I thought. My avg 10k had been 48 mins Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My lack of swim training. The fact I kept looking over to make sure my wife was ok. Last updated: 2013-01-04 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3am and ate some food to be ready for race at 6:45. Drove with Rachel to Lake Milton state partk, got 2 dogs out, got ready to go, as I was down waiting by the lake waiting for swim to start. 1 of our dogs saw another dog and tried to get it, pulled my wife over (who was 7 months pregnant) attacked the other dog whos owner who was older, he fell down. It was a huge Physchological hit to what I was about to do. I told Rachel that we could just go, she was soo upset.
very little.
