Subject: Hed H3 TriSpoke Project WheelI have an Older Hed H3 Trispoke for sale that is a project wheel. The aluminium rim has become disbonded from the carbon over about half of the circumference of the wheel. When I say disbonded, I mean the if I press sideways on the brake surface, I can detect a small amount of movement between the carbon and the aluminium. I've talked with HED about this, and they recommend trashing the wheel and buying a new one under their crash replacement program. I've also corresponded with the DIY crowd on-line who have repaired this type of condition. I've also talked with a lot of people who think the wheel could be turned into a great clock or piece of wall art. Either way, I don't have time to mess with it and would prefer to pass it along to someone who does. The markings on the wheel are HED 0303-081 and 7CC018910 The carbon is in good shape with no major chips, nicks, cracks, gouges, or other flaws. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and make an offer. I think a certain minimum value is set by being able to use is as a "crash replacement" wheel with HED. They'll discount almost all their normal rear wheels to $750 under this program. |
